MQM PUBLIC MEETING IN JINNAH GROUND WOULD GIVE A MESSAGE OF PEACEFUL HARMONY AND BROTHERHOOD: ALTAF HUSSAIN
Appeal to the people Pashtun and Hazarewal people living in Karachi to participate in big numbers
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has appealed to the people hailing from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and living in Karachi to make the public meeting being held on 24th June in Jinnah Ground Azizabad by the MQM a huge success by participating in large numbers.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM is the representative political party of the oppressed people throughout the country and it was the main reason that they were coming to the MQM along with religious minorities in big numbers.
Mr Hussain said that the MQM was paving the way for a revolution of the people belonging to the poor and middle classes by uniting them on a single platform. He hoped that the Pashtun and Hazarewal people from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would show their confidence in the MQM by making the public meeting a historic success.
Mr Hussain said that the public meeting would give a clear message of peaceful harmony and brotherly relations and this would be a landmark event.
ALTAF HUSSAIN CONGRATULATES RAJA PERVAIZ ASHRAF ON TAKING OATH OF THE OFFICE
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has congratulated the newly elected prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on taking oath of the office. He hoped that Prime Minister Ashraf would take steps for promoting democracy, bring stability in the country and for solving basic problems of the people. He also congratulated President Asif Zardari and Advisor on Interior Mr Rehman Malik.
MQM CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE CONDEMNS KILLING OF MUHAMMAD GULRAIZ OF MQM RANCHORE LINE SECTOR
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has strongly condemned the killing Muhammad Gulraiz, a worker of unit UC – 3 of MQM Ranchore Line Sector, by the firing of terrorists belonging to the outlawed Amn Committee. It termed the killing a continuation of the conspiracy to destabilize the city by a creating law and order situation.
The Co-ordination Committee said that the terrorists, criminals and extortionists of the banned Amn Committee were actively working to create instability and a state of restiveness in the city by demanding huge extortion money, robberies, kidnappings for ransom and other heinous crimes. It was in pursuance of this vicious goal that they were targeting the MQM workers one by one and the killing of Muhammad Gulraiz is a continuation of the same conspiracy.
The Co-ordination Committee extended sympathies to the bereaved family members and demanded of President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Federal Advisor on Interior Rehman Malik, and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take severe notice of the killing of Muhammad Gulraiz. It demanded that the perpetrators should be brought to book and given exemplary punishment.

PUBLIC MEETING OF THE PASHTUNS ON 24TH JUNE WOULD BE A LANDMARK EVENT: ALTAF HUSSAIN
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the public meeting of the Pashtun people being held on 24th June in Jinnah Ground Azizabad would prove to be a landmark for the people of the country, particularly for the Pashtun people. The public meeting would give a message of brotherhood and love to all the nationalities including the Pashtuns.
Mr Hussain commended the workers and office-bearers of Provincial Organizing Committee working actively for making the public meeting successful. He prayed for the workers that Allah may increase their attachment with the organization and give them knowledge and foresight. He appealed to the Pashtun people to participate in the public meeting in large number and make it a roaring success.
ALTAF HUSSAIN EXPRESSES GRIEF ON THE DEATH OF EMINENT SCHOLAR OBAIDULLAH BAIG
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his profound grief and sorrow on the death of renowned TV compare, distinguished scholar and linguistics expert Mr Obaidullah Baig. Mr Hussain said that the late Obaidullah Baig would always be remembered for his famous TV show “Kasauti.” He offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the divine blessings of the departed soul.
RAJA PERVEZ ASHRAF THANKS ALTAF HUSSAIN FOR SUPPORT
Mr Raja Pervez Ashraf, the candidate nominated by the PPP for the office of the prime minister, telephoned MQM founder and leader Mr Altaf Hussain, and thanked him for supporting his candidature. He said that he also belonged to the grass-roots like Mr Hussain and said it was a matter of pride for him that Mr Hussain had supported him in the election. He said that there were many challenges but hoped that the country would be pulled out of present challenges by making united efforts.
Mr Hussain congratulated Mr Ashraf on being nominated for the office of the prime minister and added that he was happy that Mr Ashraf had reached at this place from grass-roots level. He said that loyalty to one’s party was a basic trait and only those who stand the test of time can hope to get dignity and position.
Mr Hussain said that the country was facing a number of serious problems and crises and prayed for courage and determination for Mr Ashraf to solve those problems.
Mr Ashraf thanked Mr Hussain for his prayers and encouragement. Advisor on Interior Mr Rehman Malik also spoke to Mr Hussain and thanked him on behalf of President Zardari for supporting the PPP in every difficult time. He also appreciated his role for the promotion of democracy.
